Fantasy in the City: 20 Ebook Box Set Kindle Edition
For all you know, it is.
Maybe the reason you love the tasty creations from the nearby chocolate shop is that one of the ingredients is magic.
Perhaps some of the dreadlocks of the beautiful young girl you saw at the grocery store are snakes, not hair.
The woman you just passed on the street appeared to be on her cell phone, but she might really be speaking with a ghost.
How do you know for sure?
Witches. Ghosts. Faeries. Monsters. Magic ...
Enter twenty different worlds, each with a different flavor of magic.

We're all familiar with "urban fantasy" -- the gritty, often violent intersection of the real world with creatures from our darkest imaginings. And as entertaining as urban fantasy can be both to read and to write, I thought it was time to throw something new into the mix.
So I've coined the term "suburban fantasy" for the stories I write -- stories that blur the boundaries between the real world and the fantastical, but are lighter and less edgy than their urban cousins. And, hopefully, a little more fun.
Whether it's the exploits of the teenage offspring of the Gods walking the halls of Olympus High, or Faerie Folk moving to the Real World and trying to cope with jobs, neighbors, and mortgages, I hope you enjoy the glimpse into the lighter side of life as I see it.

I've wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember. We moved around a lot when I was little, so I can easily pin down my age based on where we lived, which means I was maybe 6 when I first made this proclamation. My writing has changed quite a bit over the years, although I am still proud of the short story I wrote in 8th grade about an orangutan named Inconspicuous.
My writing focuses on characters. I've created stories about ghosts, clones, monsters, escape artists, mermaids, circus performers ... I'm all over the map. But in every single story I do my utmost to get into the minds and hearts of my characters. I love to put them in awful situations to see how they feel, and how they think. I want them to agonize over their choices, and I want what they choose - or don't choose - to matter. I want the reader to feel joy when a character succeeds, and to cry when they don't - just like I do when I'm writing the story.

Speculative fiction writer and retired acupuncturist, Bonnie Elizabeth uses her varied experiences to create believable but often unusual characters. Writing in a broad variety of genres, the underlying theme remains connection is magic, no matter what that connection is.
Cat lovers and travelers particularly love her fictional settings where frisky felines can often be found lounging around, or giving snarky advice to main characters. Regular readers love that they can always expect the unexpected in a Bonnie Elizabeth tale.
As a multi-genre author, Bonnie has written paranormal cozy mystery, contemporary fantasy, gothic suspense, paranormal women’s fiction, and even young adult contemporary fantasy novels. Her short stories range from contemporary mystery to science fiction and secondary world fantasy.
Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Bonnie worked as a veterinary receptionist, cemetery administrator, and spent plenty of time in libraries and bookstores. She has hiked around Easter Island, jumped from an airplane (okay it was a tandem dive and she was attached to someone who jumped), cruised around the tip of Cape Horn, and eaten freshly caught food in a French chateau.
She lives with her husband, who is generally supportive of her writing, and her three cats, two of whom are known for sitting on the keyboard in the middle of the most intense scenes.
Brigid Collins is a fantasy and science fiction writer living in Michigan. Her fantasy series The Songbird River Chronicles and Winter’s Consort, her fun middle grade hijinks series The Sugimori Sisters, and her dark fairy tale novella Thorn and Thimble are available wherever books are sold. Her short stories have appeared in Fiction River, Feyland Tales, and Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar anthologies.

Ron Collins is a best-selling Science Fiction and Dark Fantasy author who writes across the spectrum of speculative fiction. With his daughter, Brigid, he edited the anthology Face the Strange.
His short fiction has received a Writers of the Future prize. His short story “The White Game” was nominated for the Short Mystery Fiction Society’s 2016 Derringer Award.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked to develop avionics systems, electronics, and information technology before chucking it all to write full-time.

Welcome to the web page of Louisa Swann, writer, novelist, and creator of all things fiction — well, almost all things. There are some places Louisa refuses to go.
As you will see, Louisa is the chaotic imagination behind a wide variety of writings, from Star Trek short stories to quirky fantasy, from humor-laden tales to dark, shadowy noir, the kind of imagination that resulted in nightmares when she was small, “stage plays” when she was a teeny bopper (do they even use that term anymore?), angst-filled poetry in her teens, and short stories and novels when she finally realized that same imagination could actually prove useful. Modern "country/western" comes to life under the pen name Jonesey Carlson and dark fantasy/noir under the pen name Lisa Gaines.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2016This is a wonderful bundle with a very nice mix of voices and themes. Very enjoyable and s great introduction to a whole new raft of writers destined to be sought after favorites.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 20193 1/2 stars. Jamie Fergusson bundled the stories. After reading this group of stories, fantasy life in the city isn't a fun life to have...a darker edge. Less than 50% of the stories were above average to me in theme or writing. A little disappointing.
